June 2024 – Amazon KDP Income Report

Welcome to July! I can’t believe how fast summer is flying by. It feels like I blinked and June was gone. I made quite a bit of progress on my goals in June but I didn’t get them all complete. Still, I’m proud of the progress I made and I’m looking forward to seeing what July brings to my KDP business.

June 2024 Income Report

In June 2024, I sold 18 books for a total income of $38.89. That’s 1 more book sold than the previous month and $6.93 more than I made the previous month. I had a total of 12 books in my bookshelf at the beginning of the month and I published 8 books in June for a total of 20 books by the end of the month. I currently have 12 coloring books, 3 log books, 3 scrapbook paper pads and 2 journals. I sold 2 log books (12), 4 coloring books (5) and 1 scrapbook paper pad (1).

As far as ads go, I spent much less money than I did last month. My ads continue to do poorly though. I spent $6.74 on ads and sold 2 books for an ACOS of 35.51%. Not good, however, I’m glad I didn’t spend as much money on ads as last month. Sometimes I think that I should just turn my ads off but what if they are helping drive organic traffic? I think it’s worth a few dollars to get my new books in front of people looking to buy, even if they don’t end up buying.

Total Amazon KDP Income for June 2024: $32.15

Previous Month’s Earnings

May 2024: $19.97
April 2024: $26.84
March 2024: $17.58

What Did I Do In June?

I made good progress on my goals in June.

Goal #1: Publish 10 books – I came up a little short with this goal. I only published 8 books in June – 5 coloring books (1 kids coloring book and 4 adult coloring books), 2 scrapbook paper pads and 1 log book.

Goal #2: Add A+ content to all coloring book pages – I didn’t complete this goal but I have a good reason why. I decided that I want to include a comparison chart in all of my A+ content. In order to do that, I need other books to add to the comparison chart. For example, if I have a coloring book about dogs wearing top hats, then I should also have related coloring books to put in my comparison chart, such as dogs wearing sweaters, dog wearing scarfs, dogs in vests, cats wearing top hats, etc. If someone is searching for one book, then they will likely be interested in the other books and might buy more than one book if they see them in the comparison chart. I hope that makes sense. I’ve decided to wait until I have all related books published before publishing my A+ content. For my first series of related coloring books (based on my best-selling coloring book), I need to publish 2 more related coloring books and then I will add A+ content to all of those coloring books.

Goal #3: Learn about Author’s pages and try setting one up for my brand – I got this done at the end of the month. I wasn’t sure if I could make an author’s page for my brand because it seems like Amazon wants real names for the author’s page. They approved my author’s page with my brand name and I added my books so I guess it’s okay.

Goals for July 2024

  • Publish 15 books
  • Add A+ content to 6 niche related coloring books
  • Add A+ content to 6 niche scrapbook paper pads

My goals for July are pretty much the same as the goals for June but I want to publish more books and get the A+ content added to my books. I think these goals are doable and will get me ready for Q4 in a few months.
