May was a disappointing month when it came to hitting my goals. It was a very busy month for me. For the first half of the month, I was on vacation and had no reliable internet connection. For the second half of the month, I was focused on making money to pay my bills and getting chores done around the house (currently in the middle of a DIY kitchen/living room renovation). I didn’t complete any of the goals I had set for Amazon KDP. Luckily, June is a new month so I can start fresh. Below is a look at my May 2024 income report as well as a recap of the goals I had set for May which are now going to be my goals for June.
May 2024 Income Report
In May 2024, I sold 17 books for a total income of $31.96. Compared to April, I sold 1 less book and made $4.68 less. I had a total of 13 books in my bookshelf at the beginning of the month and didn’t publish any new books. I have 8 coloring books, 2 logbooks, 2 journals and 1 scrapbook paper pad. Only 5 books sold in May – 3 coloring books (13), 1 log book (3) and 1 journal (1).
Just like in April, I also spent money on advertising. The lottery campaign did not do well this month. At the beginning of the month, I got a ton of clicks that weren’t generating sales and running up my tab so I ended up turning off most of the ads for the last half of the month. I spent more on advertising in May than in April but had less sales overall. In total, I spent $11.99 and sold 5 books for a total ACOS of 27.92%.
Total Amazon KDP Income for May 2024: $19.97
Previous Month’s Earnings
April 2024: $26.84
March 2024: $17.58
February 2024: $4.52
What Did I Do In May?
Nothing. As I mentioned before, I didn’t have time to work on any of my passive income projects. I’m hoping to do better in June. I am very disappointed in myself for not doing at least one goal in May. I’m not going to reach my goal of $3,000 monthly income by sitting around and doing nothing.
Goals for June 2024
- Publish 10 books
- Add A+ content to all coloring book pages
- Learn about Author’s pages and try setting one up for my brand
My goals for June are the exact same as they were for May. I plan on getting them done this month. I have nothing going on in June besides my living room/kitchen renovation so I’ll have lots of time to work hard and get ready for Q4.
