Happy new year! I plan on posting a Niche Site Challenge update on Monday but, for now, I have some other business to get to. I’m going to share with you my S.M.A.R.T. goals for 2024. The last time I did one of these goal posts was in 2018 and I don’t think I accomplished a single goal. It’s embarrassing to go back and read that post. I don’t know what I was thinking with some of those goals. This year, my goals are much more reasonable (at least, I think they are) and I’m planning on accomplishing every single one. Here are my goals for 2024 in no particular order:
Goal: Complete the Niche Site Challenge
I am going to finish the kitchen sink method (KSM) on the five niche sites that I chose back in October. I would love for each website to be making $100 by the end of April as I stated at the beginning of the Niche Site Challenge. I can’t really control how much my sites make so my main focus will be getting the KSM done for each of the sites. We will see how much they are making by the end of the year. I’m excited about it and I’m hoping for big things.
Goal: Publish 100 Listings on Etsy
One of my big accomplishments last year was starting an Etsy store. My store sells digital business forms and it is doing very well for the number of listings I have posted. There are currently 26 listings but I make $50 or more a month in sales. I would love to get around $500 a month in sales and the best way to accomplish that is by publishing more listings. I think 100 is a good number to shoot for. It’s going to be a lot of work though. The digital forms take a while to create and then I have to make thumbnails, a video and a description for each product. By creating and publishing 2-3 products a week, I should get my goal before the end of the year.
Goal: Publish 100 Low-Content Books on KDP
I published 7 books last year – a combination of log books, journals and coloring books – and made $30 last month. Not too bad if I say so myself. 100 books seems ambitious but I love designing and writing the books. I have a dozen or so books that I’ve started and I just need to finish them. I even have some books that are completed and I just need to publish them. I think if I set aside a few hours a week, I could easily knock this goal out of the park.
Goal: Publish 500 New Designs on Merch By Amazon
This goal is going to be the hardest to accomplish. I already have the designs made but I can’t publish them because my slots are full. I’m T500 and I have 500 designs published. I still need to sell 250 products before I get tiered up to level 1000. I only sell around 10 shirts a month so this is going to take forever. If I want to accomplish this goal, then I need to find a way to sell more shirts. I might try deleting some older designs and uploading new ones that have a better chance of selling. I can also upload my current designs to other countries and see if they sell there. Finally, I can try promoting my designs on Facebook or Reddit. I should rewrite this goal as “Sell 250 Products on MBA” but I’ll leave it as publish 500 new designs.
There you have it, folks. Those are my 2024 S.M.A.R.T. goals. They are going to be a challenge to accomplish but I think they are entirely doable. I would love to double or even triple last year’s income in 2024. All I have to do is accomplish these four goals and it will happen.
